Travel planner, blogger & craft beer fanatic
Hi, it’s so nice to meet you! I’m so glad you’re here!
A little bit about me and why I started WanderLust in Real Life:
I am a Minnesota born and raised travel enthusiast. I have lived most of my life in Minnesota (for over 37 years) until just recently we sold our home in the Minneapolis (Twin cities) suburbs.
Together with my husband, Clayton and our dog (he’s a Boston Terrier/Pug mix), Barkley we’re relocating to the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area in Texas. My husband is a born and raised Texan.
As a part of our relocation journey, we bought a travel trailer/RV and went on an extended road trip throughout the United States. During our relocation journey, we visited many National Parks across the USA including Yellowstone hours before the flooding in 2022.
It was an action packed summer working remotely & exploring as well as chronicling our adventures on the YouTube channel under the playlist “Grand Adventure”. Be sure to like and subscribe there for fun travel video content!
I grew up in northern Minnesota & didn’t catch the travel bug until I was in college. During the course of my undergrad I studied abroad, TWICE! During one program, I spent 100 days on a ship and visited 9 countries and many ports of call. Another program was from my home university where I spent a month in Buenos Aires, Argentina in a Spanish immersion program.
Since those experiences I’ve always had an insatiable appetite for exploring whether near or far. I’ve been to 35 states & 25 countries & 13 USA National Parks.
After meeting my husband, we’ve made it a goal to travel as much as possible and to go to at least one new country every year. I’ve been to every continent but Antarctica, but I’m hoping to get there soon. Stay tuned for that!
We were married at an all inclusive resort in Mexico & went on a honeymoon to Ireland. Europe is probably the continent that draws me in the most. We’ve been to many places in Europe, one of our favorites so far being Italy. (But, Greece is definitely a close second!) We spent over two weeks in Italy, but I have a lot more exploring to do there on a return trip! (hopefully soon!) Iceland was probably one of the most unique places I’ve been thus far.
There is always an adventure around the corner no matter where you are in the world. It’s my goal to help you fulfill the wanderlust in your life by documenting my experiences, obsessive planning and inspiration through the places I’ve traveled to by sharing it on WanderLust in Real Life. Subscribe to my newsletter for all of the up to date information!
Currently, I work a 9-5 career which is where the concept of “WanderLust in Real Life” came from. I’m always planning and dreaming up my next vacation and strategically using my PTO and weekends to travel and explore as much as I can as often as I can whether near or far.
I’m looking forward to sharing adventures soon in our new home state of Texas!
Other interests of mine include:
Golfing, Hiking, Snowboarding, Craft beer & delicious/unique food or drink. Many of these things are intertwined within my adventures or make me want to explore certain destinations.
